Just a few weeks ago, Xiaomi released Poco F1 as the mid-rangers friend. But fans with lower budget were disappointed because they don’t have this kind of deal in their budget range. Now Xiaomi bought the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro for low-mid range consumers. It is not as powerful as the Poco F1. But Snapdragon 636 chipset, 4000 mAh battery, 6.26-inch Full HD+ display, gorilla glass screen protection, metal back, 3/4 GB RAM, dual front and dual back camera are some incredible features for the rate.
The 12+5 MP dual back camera features 27 different scene recognition to optimize photos based on the surroundings or scenario. There is also AI dynamic bokeh which will let you replace the bokeh lights in the background with swirls and shapes. The dual-pixel autofocus improves autofocus and with the 1.4μm pixels, you can capture much brighter photos in low-light ambiance. The 20+2 MP dual front camera features portrait mode and 4-in-1 Super Pixels to improve close-up shots. Overall, the photos look a little soft and there is a lack of color depth. We have seen more authentic and impressive shots from some Nokia or Samsung phones in this price range. But the brightness, details, sharpness and color-contrast works pretty well in this one too. We consider the decent quality Full HD video recording with EIS as a positive although some may wish for a 4K video recording option. The good news is, you can install a third party app to record 4K video too.
The display is big and the Full HD+ quality is just perfect for a budget phone like this. Furthermore, the back is made of aluminum metal and 3rd generation Gorilla Glass protects the screen. The body is splash resistant according to an expert review but not waterproof so you should still be careful around water. These are some strong qualities regarding design and display. However, the notch is quite big and unfavorable for some users. A waterdrop notch design could have been a masterpiece. The display is vibrant, but you may feel a little lack of brightness under sunlight. Also, we have expected a stronger Gorilla Glass 5 instead of 3. So, these are some small drawbacks.
Performance wise, it is more than satisfactory and we couldn’t find anything to complain about. In fact, this is another Xiaomi phone which looks pretty attractive with a fast 14 nm Snapdragon 636 chipset for a fairly lower price. Speed should not be an issue in this device. There is no quick charge technolog in this phone but 5V/2A Charging is relatively fast which may take a little longer than 2 hours to fully charge the phone. 4000 mAh big battery will help you stay powered up for longer than usual devices in this price category. There is also OTG, fast fingerprint, face unlock, FM radio with recording, LED notification light in the front etc. features. If you are looking for something more robust and durable for long-term use with a more authentic camera, better hardware and software optimization, check out Nokia 3.1 Plus.
